How the VRA is Governed and Operated
The VRA operates through two key groups:
- Professional staff, who manage and deliver the Association’s day-to-day activities and services.
- The Management Committee, which provides strategic oversight and governance of the Association.
The Management Committee typically consists of 12–15 members elected from within the membership for a two-year term. The Committee is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Association, overseeing its role and function, and providing guidance and support to the staff team.
The most recent election was held at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in December 2025. Any eligible member may stand for election to the Management Committee.
The staff and Management Committee work collaboratively to ensure the VRA operates effectively and continues to serve the best interests of its members.
While regular communication takes place throughout the year, the staff and Management Committee also meet formally at least four times annually and virtually when the need arises.
